In conjunction with the Research Week kickoff events, more than 25,000 copies of Stephen’s “Hope” CD/DVD sets have been distributed to VA medical research facilities across the nation! The packaging includes his new video for “Hope” with a separate DVD video which highlights the Veteran Affairs’ (VA) accomplishments during the past 85 years and outlines research areas that are improving veterans’ lives.
Stephen co-wrote the lyrics for “Hope” to reach out to fellow Veterans and share his personal story of recovery.“After 9/11, I like so many others enlisted to fight for our country. All the men and women of the military share a fellowship whether you served in past or present conflicts. We also have common needs with physical and mental scars.” He continues, “Hope is what gave me the drive to face the battle of walking after my injuries left me paralyzed from the waist down. That hope, and the experimental procedure performed at the VA is what got me to where I am today.”
The VA collaborated with Stephen and his band, the New Country Outlaws, to film the video for “Hope,” which can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZFbWKkEaAw.
