Opry to Kick-Off Its CMA Music Festival Week of Shows with All-Star Tuesday Night Opry, Plaza Party June 9

oprycomThe Grand Ole Opry® presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® is kicking off its CMA Music Festival week of shows with a host of activities Tuesday, June 9, including two star-packed Tuesday Night Opry shows as well an Opry Plaza Party presented by Humana® featuring free performances by recording artist and songwriter extraordinaire Jeffrey Steele plus Big Machine Records duo Kate & Kacey.

Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins, Ricky Skaggs, Lorrie Morgan, Little Big Town, and The Charlie Daniels Band are among those scheduled to appear on Tuesday Night Opry shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Morgan will mark her 25th Opry Anniversary that night, and Skaggs will celebrate the release of his CD “Waitin’ for the Sun to Shine” packaged with a bonus DVD “A Retrospective After More Than 25 Years” with an in-store appearance in The Opry Shop. The Skaggs project is Volume II of his SONY re-issue series.

Adding to the kick-off fun, singer/songwriter/showman Steele, whose songwriting successes include “My Town,” Me and my Gang,” “Hell Yeah,” and more than 20 other Top 5 songs, will welcome fans to town with a free performance during an Opry Plaza Party presented by Humana® outside the Opry House beginning at 5:30 p.m. Also appearing on the Party stage will be Kate & Kacey, whose debut single “Dreaming Love,” is currently climbing the charts. Among the Opry shows and events to follow that week are the annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game; in-store signings at Opry Originals, the Opry’s new store in downtown Nashville at 300 Broadway; a Guitars of the Stars Auction to benefit the Opry Trust Fund featuring Epiphone guitars decorated by Dolly Parton, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and more; Opry Country Classics featuring Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Lynn Anderson, and more; and four weekend Opry shows including a Saturday Opry at the Ryman matinee.
